We use a quality heavy duty Gamakatsu or Mustad hook and can be purchased with or without a rattle strap assembly with twin rattles. The fishing jig head that we have chosen to use is the “Brush” style head and it is designed to come through heavy cover and not get hung up so easy. The hook eye is embedded in the lead jig head which makes it easier to pull through thick cover. The bottom of the jig head is flat so that so that it sets up better plus it has a barb for the trailer. The “dangling rattles” don't get knocked off as easy as others when pitching around boat houses or docks.
